Ingredients
- Yak rump meat (cut into strips)
- Soybean oil
- Green onions
- Ginger
- Salt
- Soy sauce
- Cooking wine
- Sugar
- Pepper
- Sesame seeds
- Chili oil
- Dried red pepper
- Beef broth
Directions
- Cut the yak meat into neat pieces, peel and chop the green onions, slice the ginger, and chop the dried red peppers. Toast the sesame seeds in a pan.
- Marinate the yak meat with green onions, ginger, salt, and cooking wine for 1 hour. Steam the marinated meat until cooked through, let it cool, and then cut it into 4cm x 1cm strips.
- Heat a fryer and add soybean oil. Fry the yak meat strips until the water has evaporated and then remove and drain the excess oil.
- In a separate pan, add 75g of soybean oil and heat it. Add pepper and fry it for a minute. Remove and discard the pepper. Add dried red peppers and fry until they turn purple-black. Add green onions and ginger, fry for a minute and add beef broth, soy sauce and sugar. Cook the beef strips in this sauce until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the yak jerky on a plate, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy!
