Introduction to ingredients
Osmanthus honey, also known as wild, mountain osmanthus honey, turmeric honey, winter honey, winter sugar, and winter brewing, is considered the rarest, highest quality, and most fragrant honey in my country’s commercial honey market. It was a special delicacy for the royal family in ancient times. This honey is produced in the winter, and only a few areas in a few southern provinces have commercial output. The main producing areas are Hubei, Jiangxi, and Hunan, especially in the green forest areas of southeastern Hubei, northwestern Jiangxi, and northeastern Hunan. The highest quality osmanthus nectar is produced in the middle section of Mufu Mountain in Chongyang, Hubei, where it has been known as "the king of honey – wild osmanthus honey" since ancient times. Most of it is collected by Chinese bees in the winter when the osmanthus flowers bloom and secrete honey, and the temperature is lower. This honey is rich in fragrance and warm, with a pure and elegant taste.
Nutritional value
Honey is a nutrient-rich food that contains various vitamins, inorganic salts, and trace elements. Many of these nutrients are similar to those found in human serum, making it suitable for human consumption. The inorganic salts such as iron, calcium, copper, manganese, potassium, and phosphorus have various effects on the human body. Honey also contains fructose, glucose, amylase, oxidase, reductase, and more. It has nourishing, moisturizing, detoxifying, whitening, beauty, and laxative effects. The calcium and phosphorus in honey can promote bone development in children and prevent osteoporosis in the elderly. Vitamin B in honey can quickly restore fatigue, enhance endurance, and delay aging. Magnesium has a soothing effect and potassium is beneficial for the mind and body. Honey also has bactericidal and antibacterial effects.

Shopping Tips
- Look at the packaging: the product packaging is tight and not leaking, and there are no sugar stains and dirt on the surface. The product packaging identification is complete and formal. It is required to identify the product name, ingredients, net content, production date, shelf life, storage conditions, manufacturer’s address and contact information, product standard number, production license number, etc. At this time, pay attention to the product ingredient list. Generally, there is only sweet-scented osmanthus honey and no other additives.
- Look at the color: Due to the different varieties of sweet-scented osmanthus, the product of sweet-scented osmanthus has different shades of color. High-quality sweet-scented osmanthus nectar should be shiny and uniform in color. Do not buy sweet-scented osmanthus nectar with layers, foreign bodies, or uneven color. Products with crystals are not spoiled and can be purchased even if the production date is newer.
- Smell: good-quality sweet-scented osmanthus nectar has a strong and lasting fragrance, with sweet-scented osmanthus. Those with rancidity and other peculiar smells are generally spoiled sweet-scented osmanthus honey, do not buy them.
- Look at the viscosity: the higher the viscosity, the better the product quality.
(1) The vibration is small due to its high viscosity when shaking gently. After the shaking is stopped, the honey hanging on the bottle wall will flow down slowly. The slower the flow rate, the higher the viscosity.
(2) Pick honey with chopsticks. High-quality honey has good elasticity, can be pulled into filaments and is not easy to break. Inferior honey has a low concentration and viscosity and is difficult to draw into filaments.
(3) Turn the sealed honey bottle upside down. It is difficult for the air sealed at the mouth of the bottle with high-quality viscous honey to float up and bubble.
