Cotton Row Run 2022 Results

Dear runners and fans of Cotton Row Run,

We are delighted to announce that the 42nd annual Cotton Row Run, which took place on Monday, May 30th, 2022, was a huge success! This event has been a Memorial Day tradition in Huntsville, Alabama, for over four decades, and we were thrilled to welcome runners, walkers, and spectators from all over the United States.

Here are some of the highlights from the Cotton Row Run 2022:

Race Results

The Cotton Row Run featured three races: a 10K, a 5K, and a 1-mile fun run. We had a total of 4,500 participants, making it one of the largest races in the Southeast region.

In the 10K race, the men’s winner was John Doe, who finished in 31:14, setting a new course record. The women’s winner was Jane Smith, who crossed the finish line in 35:07, beating her personal best by over a minute.

In the 5K race, the men’s winner was Bob Johnson, who finished in 16:52. The women’s winner was Emily Davis, who finished in 19:45.

The 1-mile fun run was a blast for people of all ages. We had over 500 participants, and every single one of them had a smile on their face as they crossed the finish line.

Event Festivities

Before and after the races, our event village was buzzing with activity. We had over 50 vendors selling everything from clothing to food to souvenirs. Our live music stage entertained the crowds throughout the day, and our kids’ zone was a hit with the little ones.

We were also honored to have several members of the military in attendance, including a Color Guard to start the races, and a special presentation by the Army’s Golden Knights parachute team.

Covid-19 Safety Precautions

We are proud to report that we took extensive measures to ensure the safety of our participants and staff during the event. We required all attendees to wear masks when not actively participating in the races, and we provided hand sanitizing stations throughout the event village. We also implemented a staggered start for the races to reduce congestion at the starting line.

All participants were required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event. We also had a mobile vaccination unit on-site for those who had not yet been vaccinated.

Thank You

We could not have done this without the tireless support of our volunteers, sponsors, and staff. Thank you for your dedication and hard work in making the Cotton Row Run 2022 a safe and successful event.

We look forward to seeing you all next year for the 2023 Cotton Row Run!

Best regards,

The Cotton Row Run Organizing Committee
