Fragrant Fennel Dumplings: A Summer Delight with a Perfect Seasoning Method
In summer, when it comes to dumpling fillings, there are many delicious options to choose from, such as beans, cucumbers, and watermelons. One of my personal favorites is fennel. While some people may find the taste of fennel to be strong and unappealing, I have always loved it. In my family, we enjoy eating dumplings filled with fennel, but we usually only do so when our children are not at home so that we can fully enjoy the delicious taste.
To make the perfect fennel dumpling filling, it’s important to use the right seasonings. The fragrance of fennel itself is already intoxicating, so there is no need to add a lot of additional seasonings. Here is a simple seasoning method that results in a fragrant and delicious dumpling filling:
Ingredients:
- Fennel
- Beef or pork
- Onion and ginger
- Pepper water
- Salt
- Chicken essence
- Soy sauce
- Oyster sauce
- Sesame oil
- Oil
Instructions:
- Prepare a piece of beef or pork, which should be fat and thin. Mince the meat into minced meat.
- To remove the fishy smell, use pepper water instead of cooking wine. Add half a bowl of pepper water to the meat filling and stir with chopsticks.
- Add chopped onion and ginger, 1 spoon of soy sauce, 1 spoon of oyster sauce, 1 spoon of salt, a little chicken essence, and 1 spoon of sesame oil, and stir well.
- Soak the fennel in light salt water for 10 minutes, then cut it into pieces.
- Heat some oil in a pan and let it cool before using it. Pour the cooled oil over the fennel and stir well. Then, add the fennel to the meat filling and mix it evenly.
- Use the filling to make dumplings. Enjoy!
